Bruce Simon | Principal

Bruce Simon is a Partner and Co-Founder of Landmark Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC and the Landmark Investment Sales team. Bruce is a graduate of Michigan State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He has been a licensed real estate agent since 1977 and a broker since 1982. Prior to joining Coldwell Banker Commercial in 1988, he owned and operated his own real estate firm for over five years in Lansing, Michigan. With Michael Lippitt, Bruce founded Landmark Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC in 1989. Bruce has exclusively represented numerous “large box” retailers and department stores throughout Michigan. He continues to successfully represent the highest profile national retail chains while handling well qualified leasing and sale assignments.

Michael Lippitt | Principal

Michael Lippitt is a Partner and Co-Founder of Landmark Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC and the Landmark Investment Sales team. A 1983 graduate of the University of Michigan, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Michael also has a Juris Doctor Degree of Law from Wayne State University and passed the Michigan Bar Examination in 1986. At that time, he began his retail brokerage career at Coldwell Banker Commercial, quickly becoming a top producer. Michael has successfully “rolled out” dozens of national retail chains in Michigan completing over 1,500 transactions over three decades. With Bruce Simon, Michael founded Landmark Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC in 1989 continuing his reputation for handling prestigious national retail tenant representation and leasing agencies.

Matthew Swantko | Principal

Matthew Swantko is a partner of Landmark Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC and the Landmark Investment Sales team. He joined Landmark in 2011 after a successful stint with the Grubb & Ellis Company. Matt is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He started in the business with his father, Dan Swantko, and eventually partnered with him to form Source Real Estate & Investment Company (1994-2010). With over 25 years of retail real estate experience, Matt has a proven track record of leading national tenants in their market expansion throughout Michigan. In addition, he has been successful in the role of “master broker” and has developed a market knowledge and a brokerage network, for a multi-state territory in the Midwest region. Matt continues to represent a number of significant national restaurant and retail accounts and focuses on tenant representation, sales, acquisitions, and leasing in Michigan and the Midwest.

Daniel Kukes | Principal

Daniel Kukes is a Partner of Landmark Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC and a Co-Founder and Partner of the Landmark Investment Sales Team.  Daniel specializes in the sale of retail shopping centers and single tenant net lease investment properties of all property types across the country.  He currently represents some of the nation’s largest institutional funds, private equity funds, and high net worth investors in listing investment properties nationwide.  Since 2010, Daniel has closed deals totaling over 6,500,000 SF valued at over $750,000,000. Daniel joined Landmark in 2009 as an Associate Broker.  He began his real estate career at NAI Farbman where he focused on shopping center leasing and retail tenant representation. After five years at NAI Farbman, Daniel joined DAP Investments as a partner responsible for retail development, acquisitions and leasing. While there, he developed several single tenant and shopping center projects in Michigan and Illinois. Daniel is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pre-Law & Society.

Richard Shlom | Managing Director

Richard Shlom is a graduate of Wayne State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He was a member of Coldwell Banker Commercial in 1988 and worked within its highly successful retail group. He then joined the Taubman Company in 1990 and handled national accounts, completing multiple transactions in Taubman Regional Malls throughout the United States. Rick joined the Landmark team in 1993 and is a Partner. He continues to handle national, regional and local retail accounts and listings throughout southeast Michigan and major west Michigan markets.

John Kello | Managing Director

John Kello is a graduate of the University of Detroit with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. John joined Landmark Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC. in 1999 after several years with Schostak Brothers & Company. John, a Partner at Landmark, has a proven track record of success working tenant representation assignments for several regional and national retailers.  He specializes in retail investment sales in the Midwest and Southeast representing Pension Funds, REITs and Individual Investors and has been involved in other property types including flex, office and vacant land.  John’s ability to match a property with the right purchaser has proven successful for his various clients.

Louis Ciotti | Managing Director

Louis J. Ciotti has been an integral part of the real estate industry since 2005. He has successfully represented owners, investors, developers, tenants, banks and capital funds. Louis’ successful concentration in the investment sales arena earned him the title of “Senior Director” of Landmark Investment Sales. Throughout the course of his career he has maintained a strong, loyal work ethic that his clients consistently depend on. His persistence, high-ethical moral standards have made him a “go to” trusted broker to his clients. Louis’ business dealings have grown nationwide with completed transactions in over 15 states which include retail tenant representation, big box retail requirements, investment sales, and Note sales through financial institutions.

Louis is someone you want to work with to help facilitate your needs and to best guide you through the challenges of transactions. He has the ability to recognize client’s objectives and develop strategies to achieve them, resulting in a network of satisfied clients.


Max Goldman | Senior Director

After earning a Bachelor of Arts and an MBA from University of Michigan, Max Goldman worked in retail and eventually became the CEO of Marti Walker, a chain of 30 junior apparel stores. With vast knowledge of the retail landscape, Max transitioned to the retail real estate brokerage specializing in vacant land sales, site acquisition, assemblages and large format retail “boxes”.  Among his prestigious assignments, Max represented Lowe’s Home Improvement in over 20 stores and currently handles site selection for Costco.  Landmark is proud to have a leader and veteran of Max Goldman’s stature on our team!


Jason Greenspan | Director

Jason Greenspan graduated from the University of Michigan in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology. Jason also received a Juris Doctor in 2015 from Michigan State University College of Law where he concentrated in business and corporations. He passed the Michigan Bar Examination in July 2015. Starting in 2011, and while in law school, Jason interned at Landmark Investment Sales identifying, sourcing, and underwriting investment grade properties. With law school behind him and six years of experience in real estate investment sales, Jason has participated in the closing of over $100,000,000 and continues to source investment opportunities across the country. Jason specializes in the representation of buyers and sellers of institutional grade single tenant properties, high profile unanchored retail centers, grocery anchored centers, and power centers.


David Ward | Director

David Ward brings to Landmark Commercial Real Estate more than 20 years of progressive experience in lease negotiations, land acquisitions, and project management.  David spent the last four years as a broker in New York specializing in site selection and construction management for high-end restaurant chains.  Prior, David spent over ten years at Ramco-Gershenson focusing his effort in the leasing department successfully negotiating over 250 retail leases in power centers and regional malls. David has represented numerous retail tenants and was recognized by Sprint Retail Corp. as A “Top Real Estate Broker” (2004).  David also served as the Director of Real Estate for the largest CVS developer in the country, concentrating on land acquisitions and development.  At Landmark, David will concentrate on power center leasing and other high profile leasing assignments.

Scott Sonenberg | Senior Associate

Scott Sonenberg is graduate of Western Michigan University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management.  Scott started his career working with A.F. Jonna Development where he gained valuable experience in shopping center leasing and site selection for numerous national, regional, and local retailers. Since joining Landmark in 2014, his positive energy and keen eye for deals, combined with a flair for multi-tasking, has helped Scott complete a large volume of transactions on an annual basis.  At Landmark, Scott has built on his early success working on shopping center leasing, retail tenant representation, and investment sales.


Anthony Vitale | Senior Associate

Anthony Vitale is a graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management. Prior to joining Landmark, Anthony began his career in real estate at the Thomas Duke Company specializing in retail and office sales and leasing. Anthony quickly demonstrated an acute understanding of the human dynamics that influence business decisions to the advantage of his clients. His ambition, drive and organizational skills have enabled him to complete a substantial volume of transactions on a yearly basis. He is a trusted fiduciary to his clients. As a team member at Landmark, Anthony will continue to build on his success focusing on shopping center leasing, retail tenant representation, and investment sales throughout southeast Michigan.


Charlie Van Camp |
Senior Investment Analyst

Charlie Van Camp graduated from Central Michigan University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. For the last three years, Charlie worked at Bedrock Detroit underwriting over 30 commercial acquisitions and financings valued at over $150 million in financing.  This experience helped him gain extensive knowledge in underwriting and managing a pipeline of complex mixed-use investment transactions.  Now at Landmark, Charlie underwrites investment properties across all property types and provides pricing guidance and valuations for the Investment Sales Department.


Gordon Hyde | Senior Associate

Gordon Hyde graduated from Madonna University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Gordon started his business career at Hines Park Ford in sales and leasing and quickly rose to become one of its top salesmen. Gordon received accolades on numerous occasions as a “top producer” for the company. Gordon’s excellent communication skills along with his understanding of the need for strong customer service make him an ideal commercial real estate professional. Looking to parlay these skills, Gordon joined Landmark with a goal to quickly become a top producing commercial real estate sales associate.


Maxwell Lippitt | Senior Associate

Maxwell Lippitt graduated from Michigan State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Max was an intern in Landmark’s Investment Sales department during the summer of 2015. Upon graduating, Max became an associate broker at CBRE specializing in the disposition of single tenant medical, retail, and office properties. While at CBRE, Max researched, sourced, and tracked thousands of investment properties while building strong relationships with a wide variety of property owners all across the country. Since joining Landmark in 2018, Max has closed on over $200,000,000 of investment deals across the country. In 2020, Max was promoted to Senior Associate where he continues to specialize in the representation of both buyers and sellers in retail, medical, industrial and grocery anchored assets.

Michelle Marcinko | Business Director

Michelle Marcinko is a graduate of Davenport University with a Business Administration degree. In 1995, Michelle joined Landmark Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC as its Business Director. In 1998, she attained her Real Estate Sales Associate license. Prior to joining Landmark, she worked in the legal field as a legal secretary. Michelle oversees every facet of Landmark’s business operations with great pride and efficiency. Her expertise, loyalty and devotion are key to Landmark’s continued success.


Laura Rogers | Marketing/Transaction Specialist

Laura Rogers is a graphic designer and a career marketing expert with more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate and engineering. She is expert in designing marketing materials, websites, printed brochures and all forms of professional presentation. Laura has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Madonna University in graphic design. At Landmark,  Laura works closely with our leasing/tenant rep and investment sales teams providing valued services in tracking deals from inception to closing. Laura’s passion for marketing and graphic design is integral to Landmark’s continued growth strategies.


Melanie Phillips |
Marketing Coordinator

Melanie Phillips is a graduate of Baker College with an Associate’s degree in Digital Media Design. She joined the Landmark team as a Marketing Coordinator in 2017. Melanie handles the leasing/tenant rep division’s marketing efforts with mapping, packaging, web design, demography, and computer related graphics. Her passion and knowledge for creating aesthetically-pleasing visual communications makes her a valuable member of the Landmark team.


Kathleen Perry |
Marketing Coordinator

Kathleen Perry is a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. Kathleen joined Landmark as a Marketing Coordinator in 2020. She works closely with our leasing/tenant rep and investment sales teams providing valued services in social media, marketing campaigns, mapping, packaging, demography, and lead management. Kathleen has a passion for marketing and is integral to Landmark’s continued growth strategies.


Alexis Spathelf |
Administrative Associate

Alexis Spathelf is Landmark’s newest member of the team joining as an Administrative Associate in 2021. Alexis is a recent graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management. Her previous customer service experiences make her a great fit and perfect first impression for our clients. Alexis supports our marketing and brokerage staff in a variety of essential tasks.
